People seeking asylum are struggling, like all Australians through this pandemic. The difference is that there is no government safety net available to fall back on. Very few are entitled to any welfare support or Centrelink payments.

The Asylum Seekers Centre is still very much operating and providing most of their services remotely. Food deliveries are being made to people’s homes, their health clinic is open for appointments and many other services are now being made by phone.

Each t-shirt costs AU$39.99 and represents solidarity between Wave Changer and ASC in tackling present-day humanitarian issues. And of course, you'll get a funky t-shirt that'll get people talking.

All donations to the Asylum Seekers Centre at this time will provide essential support services for people seeking asylum in Sydney. It costs $50 to provide basic groceries to an individual for a week, $100 for a family. $35 provides a mobile phone recharge to help someone stay connected to their lawyer, casework support and job advisor.

Your support makes a direct impact on the services the Asylum Seekers Centre can pass on to people seeking asylum.
LATEST UPDATE (8th May 2020)
from Frances Rush OAM (Chief Executive Officer at ASC)

"Your support has enabled us to deliver more than 700 people food and basic toiletries in the last fortnight. Pairs of volunteers have been making these deliveries and meeting people who are doing it tough. The food, phone support, data top-ups, health services and legal support we are providing is spreading the sense of community to people’s homes."

"While our services are mostly being provided remotely, the centre is operating with a skeleton staff coming in and an incredible logistics operation of food packing and delivery. Our health cinic is still open every day for appointments, pharmaceuticals and telehealth."
